Endorsement: Erin Michele Dotlich
Fellow Chemists,
It is my absolute privilege to endorse Dr. Christina (Chris) Bodurow for ACS President-Elect.
A mentor and friend for years, Chris has positively shaped my career and the science community. The first project I worked on with Chris was hosting the 2013 ACS National Meeting in Indianapolis. The idea that Indianapolis could host such a large science conference was not a vision shared by many; however, Chris influenced the ACS to give us (Indy) a chance. As the Executive Liaison and Committee Leader, Chris secured significant financial sponsorship from both big and small technical corporations. Our team delivered many unique projects, social opportunities, and technical programs to not only drive attendance, but offer a most exceptional experience. To this day, conference attendees recall riding around the Indy Motor Speedway racetrack at high speeds as one of their most memorable life experiences. This was the first of many projects I would work on with Chris. Servant leaders make and maintain relationships which can be a challenge leading volunteers. Chris has successfully retained.
Chris’s background is unique and exceptional, spanning industry, academia, arts and community. After more than 30 years, Chris retired from Eli Lilly having advanced from chemist to senior management level. She took an opportunity as VP of Global Regulatory Affairs and Vice President of Strategic Operations at IQVIA. Currently, she is serving as Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer at Stanford University School of Medicine. She serves on the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra board and as a PhD graduate from Princeton, she has remained actively engaged by serving on their advisory board. Chris has served in multiple ACS leadership roles including serving on the ACS Board of Directors. She was officially named and ACS Fellow in 2014. Chris is also a remarkable pianist! Throughout all her career progression, life demands and hobbies, her membership and leadership with ACS has never lapsed. Chris’s proven track record in leadership and career, community engagement and loyalty to ACS demonstrates her ability to successfully serve as your next ACS President-Elect.
What an incredible honor it would be to have Chris’s vision lead our large scientific community. I humbly request your vote for Chris Bodurow from September 15th – October 15th.
Your consideration is appreciated.
